Aaron Smith is an experienced CEO, managing director, board director and business advisor with more than 25 years of leadership experience. Beginning his career as a trade-qualified diesel mechanic, he progressed through operational and commercial leadership roles to lead some of New Zealand’s most recognised organisations in the transport, capital equipment and agricultural sectors.

His executive career includes serving as CEO of Norwood, Managing Director, CEO and shareholder of Keith Andrews Trucks, and Interim CEO of Kā te Rama Switched On Group during a significant period of organisational transformation. Throughout his career, Aaron has built a reputation for leading complex businesses through growth, acquisitions, restructuring and performance improvement.

At Keith Andrews Trucks, Aaron led the business through a period of sustained growth, expanding the organisation from 140 to 300 employees through organic growth and strategic acquisitions. At Norwood, he successfully led a major organisational transformation, simplifying operations and improving organisational performance.

Today, through Aaron Smith Limited, he works with boards, shareholders and executive teams to strengthen leadership, improve organisational performance and navigate complex strategic decisions. His experience spans governance, strategy, finance, operational excellence, organisational change, culture and executive leadership across multi-site, asset-intensive businesses.

Aaron holds a Bachelor of Applied Management in Business Transformation and Change, has completed the EY Darden Executive Programme through the University of Virginia, and is a Member of the Institute of Directors.
